• Back Where It Belongs

Another year has gone by . . . . . and once again . . . . . things can be right with the world. My chair, snack table and other assorted furnishings are back to their optimal TV position. And that is a good thing since we are closing in on the HD DEADLINE. Supposedly . . . . . this is going to free up air . . . . . I’m not sure where the air is going to go . . . . . . but, it will be freed to make a broader spectrum of air which will be used for public safety broadcasting. That means that we get the much clearer air to watch our soap operas and sports  . . . . . while police, fire and rescue get the old inferior portions of air. My understanding is . . . . . that the block of . . . . . . . . . well, air . . . . . . . that is controlled by FM and AM radio will not be altered. The new air will now be referred to as HD, SD or DTV air and becomes . . . . . . . . under control of the NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) . . . . . . which is a sub agency of the FCC . . . . . . . which has long been in control of our air.  Now the unused air . . . . . or analog air . . . . . . will (as I said earlier) be added to the air of the emergency services which will greatly increase their air. However, they will now have an abundance of air . . . . . due to the newly added air . . . . . .  which they can auction to other providers of air . . . . . . . . . such as wireless broadband and other forms of . . . . . . . ANDP (air necessitated device provider). You may be wondering . . . . . . . what about your DVD and VCR? They won’t be affected as they don’t directly use air . . . . . . . . although, they are used in conjunction with an ACD (air collection device).

So, I wonder . . . . . . what will happen on February 17? Is the new HD air as breathable as the old Analog air? Can you hit a baseball further in DTV air as opposed to FM air? Will the NASCAR drivers be looking to draft in the SD air . . . . . . and will the better crew chiefs try adding an ACD to their car? I don’t have these answers, but . . . . . . soon . . . . . we will find out.

    I have no idea where I was going with this. All I wanted was to put my easy chair . . . . . . . which was recently replaced by a tree . . . . . . . back where it belongs . . . . . at least until next November.
